Logicenters appoints solar energy expert

Logicenters is continuing to take the lead in a CO₂-neutral property sector. The company’s commitment to solar energy has now been strengthened with the recruitment of Jon Malmsten, who will be responsible for the logistics property company’s sustainable energy solutions.

With a sustainability goal to be completely climate neutral by 2028, Logicenters needs to develop all areas of its operations. The ambitious solar strategy has already been implemented at the majority of the company’s logistics facilities and this commitment is now being further developed with a key appointment in this field.

As of 1 April, Jon Malmsten has been employed at Logicenters as Energy transition expert with responsibility for sustainability and energy solutions at properties under management as well as in development projects.

“Personally, I believe it is as natural to incorporate solar cells on the roof of a facility as it is to build floors and walls inside. Our facilities already cover a total area of more than two million m² and our ambition is to cover this whole area with solar cells. Logicenters currently has more than 20 facilities with solar cell installation, a figure that is set to double as a result of ongoing customer dialogue. Having said that, we are certain that Jon’s days with us will be easy to fill and this is a key appointment for us,” says Matthias Kettelhoit, CEO at Logicenters.

Jon Malmsten joins us from Aktea Energy, where he was responsible for strategy and the needs analysis of charging infrastructure for companies planning to switch to fossil-free operation for their service vehicles. He has also previously worked as a lecturer at the University of Gotland, focusing on wind power technology.

“I am very excited to have this opportunity to challenge myself and contribute towards the high sustainability goals of a CO₂-neutral company. As builders of large logistics facilities, we have excellent conditions and thus a responsibility to take a leading role in the installation of solar energy on our large roofs. There are also interesting synergies here, as solar power can charge the electric distribution vehicles of the future. There is a great deal going on in the market right now and Logicenters can make a difference,” says Jon Malmsten.

Logicenters invests in Moss – acquires 70,000 m2 site

The logistics property company is continuing to expand its presence in Norway. Logicenters has now announced that it has acquired a 70,000 m² site from Skolt. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023 and the entire developed logistics park is scheduled for completion in 2025.

Logicenters has acquired a site on speculation in Moss, Norway. During the first quarter of 2022, Logicenters will start preparing the land, which is expected to be ready for construction in the fourth quarter of 2022. To begin with, a building will be constructed on the site which will later become part of a developed logistics park. Construction of the planned property will begin in the first quarter of 2023. The entire logistics park is scheduled to be fully developed during 2025.

The logistics property company is in dialogue with several exciting companies, for whom Logicenters wants to develop facilities at the new logistics park in Moss.

“We are delighted to have secured this site in Moss. The area has seen strong growth in recent years and we can see that development in Moss is off to a good start. With tenants in the area such as Greencarrier, Europris, HelloFresh, Onna Greens, Altus Logisitics, Etac and Rockwoll, Moss logistics park has been on the map for major logistics companies for some time. Moss also has a good supply of labour, which we are finding is becoming increasingly important to logistics companies. The park is also located right next to the port of Moss and its dry dock. So there are great opportunities to move goods in and out of the country easily using containers and ships that are more environmentally friendly than heavy transport. Our ambition is to develop a state-of-the-art property with a strong focus on the environment, sustainability and energy efficiency. We are currently looking for major tenants who focus on the same factors as us. The logistics park in Moss is strategically located close to Oslo, Moss Airport and Rygge.

Logicenters has made another key appointment. Its latest arrival is Mikael Hillsten who takes on the role of Manager Operation Development for Logicenters in Sweden. Mikael has extensive experience of business development within construction and property development companies, with his most recent post as Chief Operating Officer at the Wästbygg Group.

The logistics property company is continuing to strengthen its position in the Nordic region with a key new appointment. Mikael Hillsten has joined the company in Sweden as Development Operation Manager. His most recent post was at the Wästbygg Group and he has extensive experience in management, training and coaching.

Mikael will contribute valuable experience in both developing and refining companies, which will in turn help Logicenters to drive its operations forwards. Mikael Hillsten has spent the last eleven years working in several roles within the Wästbygg Group. For the last three years, he was the Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the Group and all Group companies’ business plans. Prior to this, Mikael also worked as Development Manager and Head of Analysis for the Wästbygg Group.

Logicenters begins expansion in Wroclaw, Poland

Following its launch into Poland, Logicenters is now beginning the expansion of its logistics facility in Wroclaw, Poland. The expansion will add 22,500 m² of space and the new section is scheduled for completion in the last quarter of 2022.

In the summer of 2021, the logistics property company announced its intention to expand its presence outside the Nordic region with its first venture in Poland. As a first step, Logicenters acquired the Polish company BIK SA and its current portfolio, with the total logistics space estimated to be more than 115,000 m².

Logicenters is now beginning the expansion at Nowa Wies Wroclawska in Wroclaw, south-west Poland. The expansion will add a total of 22,500 m² space. Atlas Ward has been chosen as General Contractor, and the project is being developed on speculative basis due to the leasing dynamics in the Wroclaw market. In line with Logicenters’ sustainability profile, the expansion of the property in Wroclaw will be of a high standard with careful selection of materials used for the construction.

Wroclaw is in a strategically important location with a high population density, large factory clusters and easy access to the E4 European motorway.

That is why we are starting an investment that we are implementing on a speculative basis. We are also negotiating with potential tenants. 55,000 m2 property in Mäntsäla: Logicenters signs lease with Tokmanni Oy in Finland

In Mäntsäla, Finland, Logicenters has signed a long-term lease agreement with Finnish retail company Tokmanni Oy. The lease is for a 55,000 m² warehouse in southern Mäntsälä and the first phase is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023.

Logicenters has signed a lease agreement with Tokmanni Oy at Moreenikuja in Mäntsälä. The Finnish retail company already operates in the Kapulin Yritysalue area and the new warehouse will be located next to Tokmanni’s current property. Logicenters will develop Tokmanni Oy’s future warehouse over an area of 55,000 m² and the first phase is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023. In phase two, Logicenters will have the opportunity to further expand the facility for Tokmanni Oy, with this phase scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2024.

The property will be built in line with Logicenters’ ambitious sustainability goals. Solar panels will installed on the roof and the property will use the waste heat as a source of energy from a Data Center that operates in the area. The property will also be certified in accordance with BREEAM Very Good.

Continued investment with new project: Logicenters completes 31,000 m2 facility in Vaggeryd

Logicenters is continuing its expansion with the start of construction on another multi- tenant warehouse at asite of just over 31,000m2 inVaggeryd, south of Jönköping. The property is being built partly on speculation and is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in the first quarter of 2023.

Logicenters’ new facility will be located in Södra Stigamo in the municipality of Vaggeryd. Logicenters already has a strong presence in the Jönköping region with modern logistics properties covering more than 170 000 m2 in Torsvik and Stigamo. The property in Vaggeryd is being labelled one of the larger multi-tenant properties in the region and is being built partly on speculation. The area is already home to major companies such as Postnord, DVS, Babyshop and AD Bildelar.

“As a resident of the region, I think it is exciting to continue our investment in of Sweden’s major logistics centres and we will work hard for our future tenants. Logicenters signs further lease with fast-growing Vinden AB in Brunna

In Brunna Logistics Park, just north of Stockholm, Logicenters has now signed a lease with storage company Vinden AB. The property is located at Mätarvägen 31 and the long-term lease is for 10,850 m² of the property. Vinden expects to take possession in the autumn of 2022.

In 2017, the logistics property company acquired land in Brunna to further strengthen its presence in the region. The logistics facility on the site has since been built on speculation. Logicenters has now announced that it has signed a lease with Vinden AB, which will become the first tenant of this property built on speculation. The logistics property has a total area of 35,000 m² of which Vinden will lease an area of 10,850 m². The logistics facility will also be environmentally certified in accordance with BREEAM. The property at Mätarvägen 31 in Brunna Logistics Park is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in the third quarter of 2022.

Continued growth in the Copenhagen region: Logicenters leases 14,000 m2 in Køge for Brings’ large e-commerce investment

Logicenters is now commencing the development of another 38,000 m² warehouse in Køge outside Copenhagen. In addition to this, Logicenters has signed a lease with Bring. Initially, the lease concerns a 14 000 m² logistics property adapted for e-commerce.

In the autumn of 2021, Logicenters began the fourth stage of development at its 160,000 m² site in Køge, Denmark. The tenant will be post- and logistics company Bring. Of the total area of 38,000 m², Bring will initially lease 14,000 m² with the aim of doubling this in a second stage. The facility will be adapted for their investment in automated e-commerce logistics to be able to offer fast and green deliveries to their customers.

“We are very pleased to be expanding our collaboration with Bring. We at Logicenters think it is important to be able to meet our customers’ needs and the fact that Bring wants to continue to grow with us is good proof of this. Secondly, Køge is a place where we are well established and we are certain that it will remain a key hub for transport and logistics companies,” says Matthias Kettelhoit, CEO of Logicenters.

Bring will incorporate its autostore solution Shelfless in the logistics property. Shelfless is an overall solution which uses technology to enable stores to focus entirely on sales while Bring manages all processes related to warehousing and delivery.

To meet these requirements, we have developed an automated fulfilment solution, a kind of plug and play solution, that only the largest e-retailers have had access to before. Logicenters now begins construction for Dagab in Landskrona

The groundbreaking ceremony has taken place for the facility Logicenters is developing for Axfood’s purchasing and logistics company Dagab. The 37,500 m² facility is located at Örja 1:23 in Landskrona and is scheduled for occupancy by the end of 2022.

In the spring of 2021, it was announced that Logicenters will develop another facility for Dagab. This facility is located west of the Landskrona South interchange in the city of Landskrona and will be the second facility in the cooperation between the parties. The property will serve as Dagab’s new national fruit and vegetable warehouse. In line with Logicenters’ ambitious sustainability goals, this facility will also be environmentally certified in accordance with BREEAM Very Good and there will also be the option to install solar panels on the roof.

“The fact that we are able to maintain this high standard of sustainability in our property developments is something of which we are very proud. In addition to our sustainability requirements, we take great care to ensure that our facilities are suitable for our partners’ logistics operations, so it is particularly motivating to receive a boost in confidence. The new facility is strategically located in southern Sweden, close to Helsingborg, Malmö and major motorways such as the E6, E20 and R17, used by around 40,000 cars daily. In addition to the Dagab facility, Logicenters has acquired a 58,500 m² site to further strengthen its presence in the Öresund region.
